Specialist Physician in Orthopedics with a Focus on Foot Surgery

The Movement Organs Center (ROC) Umeå is responsible for university hospital care in Orthopedics, including spinal surgery, in the Northern healthcare region, i.e., the four northernmost counties. ROC is also the county hospital for orthopedics in Västerbotten and a regional hospital for the Umeå area.

The Movement Organs Center is divided into the sections of Arthroplasty and Tumor, Factum, Trauma, and Spine, all of which conduct thousands of patient visits, treatments, and surgical procedures annually. Together with the Surgical and Orthopedic Clinic in Lycksele and the Unit for Surgical Operations in Skellefteå, we are responsible for all orthopedics in the county.

The Movement Organs Center, Umeå is a University Hospital Unit (USVE) where research and student supervision are a natural part of clinical everyday life.

Our diverse operations within the Movement Organs Center are seen as stimulating by our staff as the operations are divided into different sections that provide varied work and a medical knowledge base. We have a breadth and depth of operations that encompass everything from assessments of patients' acute orthopedic problems in emergency care, outpatient clinics, and wards to elective orthopedic surgeries and extensive fracture and trauma surgery.

We are now looking for a Specialist Physician in Orthopedics with a focus on Foot Surgery.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Specialist Physician with us, you contribute knowledge and engagement that makes people feel secure.

You will be involved in business development, teaching, and supervision of ST doctors, AT doctors, candidates, and other staff categories. The tasks involve independently and together with colleagues managing outpatient, ward, and surgical operations at the clinic's foot surgery section. You will also participate in on-call work within general orthopedics.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed physician with specialist competence in orthopedics with good experience in foot surgery.

In addition to formal qualifications, applicants should have good judgment, pronounced teamwork skills, the ability to lead and inspire colleagues, and be able to take initiatives.

The Movement Organs Center is a University Hospital Unit (USVE) where research and student supervision are a natural part of clinical everyday life. We conduct research in various areas. Scientific qualifications, research interest, or already started doctoral studies are meritorious.

Verification of medical licenses and all relevant specialist certificates via the National Board of Health and Welfare (HOSP) and information retrieval from IVO will occur when the application is received. Upon hiring, we also request a criminal record extract from all employees.
